We purchased our first two llamas in 2007. I have always been passionate about animals and have been a professional dog groomer for 22 years. My husband worked on a neighboring dairy farm in his high school years so he had the farm experience. Our children were now in their teens so we thought this would be a good time to add a new venture in our lives. After a life long dream to have a hobby farm of our own, we set out to find just the right animals for our farm. We were on the path of a few alpaca geldings but after we met some llamas on an alpaca farm visit, we changed our mind. We decided llamas would be a better fit and just what we were looking for. They were irresistably cute with those big, beautiful eyes. I learned they were so gentle, curious, intelligent and pretty easy keepers. We searched around and found Pleasure Vallley Llamas to be close by. I visited Laux's farm and by days' end, I purchased our first two females. The rest was history, we were hooked. That following year, we made a few more purchases. I did some shows in the summer and found out that I really enjoyed the performance ring(see Training Page). We have made so many new friends in the llama community. It has been alot of fun! We have also become a host farm for the Washington County 4-H Llama Project. I must warn you : LLAMAS ARE ADDICTING!!!!
